My name is Liana Adamyan. I was born in a big and wonderful family. However, our family experienced such a turn of events that psychologically destroyed my sisters, my brothers and myself. In 2015, we lost our parents. That sinister year was the cruelest period for us. Our family was devastated; eleven children, eight of which were underage, were left without
parents. Loss of parents was grave for each of us. It was especially difficult for my older sister and brothers, who tried to stand firm on their shaking feet, taking upon their shoulders the needs of the family.
We had very cruel days full of pain and tears; so we became angry at God and people. We were offended at God for taking our parents and leaving us alone.
In that period, we isolated ourselves; we did not even have friends. Each of us did their part in taking care of our family, and tried to be useful for one another. When school was over, we did not run home and play as our classmates, but were busy with the needs of the family.
In this very difficult period, Geghetsik Sahakyan, a worker of the Development Center, visited us. She spoke to us, told us about the Center and invited us there. At that time, we avoided any fellowship; we were even afraid to come out of our house. Finally, our twin brothers and I with two of my sisters decided to visit the Development Center.
The love of the teachers and children in the Center restored our faith and trust toward God and people. Our lives were changed; we understood that we had a Heavenly Father; He has never left us and will never leave us, because He loves us. We started to attend a number of interesting study groups. We liked everything in the Center.
When we lost our parents, many people supported us financially. However, in the Center, we received much more, and we can’t describe it with words. We do not feel orphaned anymore; we are free of fears; we can have fellowship with people and make decisions; in a word, we came out of isolation. In school, many who saw the obvious changes in us, were amazed as well.
In the Development Center, we learn puppet-making, painting, secrets of culinary, dancing, foreign languages, computer programs. We participate in different events and visit cultural places we could not even dream about. We have all-round development.
We thank God for not forgetting us, for opening new opportunities for us and for helping us in every difficulty. We are also grateful to “Go and See..” Social Ministry for their care and support.
